Boom colt Switzerland will undergo surgery to remove a small chip in his fetlock.

Switzerland who finished 8th in the Golden Slipper on the weekend will require surgery before racing again after a post race scan uncovered a chip in the horses fetlock.

Trainer Chris Waller announced the news on X on Friday suggesting the horse should make a full recovery with the aim to target the Golden Rose and the Coolmore Stud Stakes in the Spring.

Switzerland went into the Golden Slipper as one of two horses who remained unbeaten of which both were majority owned by Coolmore Stud however neither were able to boost their stud value in the race with Storm Boy finishing third in the race despite jumping as the even money favourite with betting apps in Australia.
